We Launched Bosque Comunitario de Fe in Azalea Park
This past Monday, August 18, marked a historic moment for Azalea Park and for the entire Latino/Hispanic community of Central Florida. With the symbolic planting of a first tree at the home of a local resident, we officially launched the Bosque Comunitario de Fe – Nuestros Bosques project, an urban ecological corridor that seeks to transform our neighborhood into a greener, healthier, and more resilient space.

A Collective Effort for the Community
The event was led by Commissioner Tony Ortiz, District 2 representative of the City of Orlando, who reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening green spaces and the well-being of our neighbors.
Several partner organizations joined this symbolic moment, including:
Renacer Foundation, promoter of community mental health.
Observatorio Ambiental Hispano, technical advisor in arboriculture and conservation.
Calao Corp, specialized in communication and audiovisual production.
Corpus Care Inc., strategic partner of the project.
Each of these entities brings experience and dedication to ensure that this project has a lasting impact in Azalea Park.
The Symbolism of the First Tree
The tree planted represents much more than an environmental action: it is the beginning of a collective commitment to sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental justice.
Over the next two years (2025–2027), the project aims to:
Plant 1,030 trees (oaks and fruit trees).
Conserve 150 existing trees.
Conduct 120 educational workshops, including 12 on mental health.
Train 45 community leaders who will serve as guardians of our urban forests.
A Community that Grows Stronger
"Today we did not just plant a tree; we planted hope, unity, and a greener future for the families of Azalea Park," expressed one of the community leaders during the activity.
This first gathering demonstrated that when community, organizations, and government work together, the results can transform not only the environment but also the quality of life of all residents.
What’s Next
The Bosque Comunitario de Fe – Nuestros Bosques is just beginning. In the coming months, we will hold tree-planting days, educational workshops, mental health activities, and community events to invite more families to join.
