The beginning of this year brought a milestone that fills the entire Faith Community Forest (BCF) family with pride and motivation. We had the honor of welcoming Maite Arce, CEO of Hispanic Access Foundation (HAF) the organization that leads the national "Nuestros Bosques" initiative to our site.

This visit represented not only a formal institutional meeting but a profound recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by every member of our community in Azalea Park.

Validating Collective Effort Having the top representative of HAF present is a testament to the impact BCF is creating. During her tour, Maite witnessed firsthand the progress in the construction of our Greenhouse and the consolidation of our urban ecological corridor. For us, as project executors, her visit reaffirms that our mission to plant 1,030 trees aligns with the highest standards of conservation and civic participation.

Motivation to Keep Growing Hearing firsthand the support from such an influential organization provides us with a renewed sense of energy. The importance of this accompaniment lies in:

  • National Visibility: It positions our community as a benchmark for local environmental solutions.

  • Strengthening Alliances: It solidifies the relationship between Christ the King Episcopal Church, our volunteers, and the entities that make this dream possible.

  • Inspiration for Volunteers: Knowing that our labor is valued by leaders of this caliber motivates every neighbor to continue transforming their environment.

A Shared Commitment During this memorable day, it became evident that there is a seamless connection between the national vision of "Nuestros Bosques" and the local execution at BCF. Maite Arce witnessed not only the progress of plants and structures but also the solid social fabric we are building: a joint effort of families, youth, and religious leaders committed to environmental justice and the well-being of all community members.

This encounter reminds us that we are not alone on this journey. The support from HAF is the wind beneath our wings, driving us to transform our surroundings into a cooler, greener, and healthier place for everyone.
