At the Faith Community Forest (BCF), our mission goes beyond planting new trees; we also take on the responsibility of caring for and strengthening the existing lungs of our community. Today, we proudly celebrate a significant milestone in our preventative and maintenance pruning goals in the Azalea Park neighborhood.

Since the start of the project, we have successfully pruned 50 trees, representing direct support and a positive impact for 50 families, their neighbors, and the community at large. Why is Pruning Vital for an Urban Forest?

Pruning is not just an aesthetic matter; it is a tool for public health and safety:

  • Tree Health: Removing dead or diseased branches allows the tree to focus its energy on healthy growth and prevents pests.

  • Community Safety: By performing strategic pruning, we reduce the risk of falling branches during storms, protecting homes, vehicles, and power lines.

  • Coexistence with Infrastructure: We ensure the canopy grows in harmony with sidewalks and traffic signs, maintaining clear visibility for everyone.

An Achievement of Planning and Technique

Meeting this goal is the result of a rigorous evaluation process. Each pruning performed under the BCF project has followed technical standards to ensure the tree heals correctly and continues to provide shade for decades.

This success is a testament to our transition from being just "planters" to being true custodians of nature. By caring for mature trees, we are maximizing immediate environmental benefits, such as air purification and the reduction of "heat islands."

Continuing through 2026! Join the Project

Our work doesn't stop here! Throughout 2026, we will continue our pruning sessions to keep beautifying and protecting our environment.

We invite anyone interested in having us inspect their trees to contact us. We want to hear from you and provide the necessary technical guidance. Get involved in this beautiful project, and together, let's help our urban forest grow healthy and safe!
