This vibrant and community-spirited event was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen ties among the residents of Engelwood and Azalea Park, while sharing the message of sustainability and well-being that drives our project.

Representatives from Renacer Foundation, Corpus Care, and Biophilia took part on behalf of the Bosque Comunitario de Fe team, engaging with attendees and sharing information about the free tree planting program, an initiative that aims to transform neighborhoods in East Orlando into greener, healthier spaces.

A Space to Serve, Learn and Plant Hope

During the event, over 60 grocery bags were distributed to local families, and more than 20 residents signed up to receive a free tree to be planted in their homes.

In addition, the team conducted a community workshop titled “How to Manage Stress”, offering simple and practical tools to improve emotional well-being. Participants learned to:

  1. Try meditation – take a few minutes to breathe and release tension.

  2. Listen to music – it can relax the mind and lift your mood.

  3. Organize daily tasks – it helps reduce overwhelm and improve focus.

  4. Take breaks – listen to your body and rest when you need to.

  5. Go for a walk – walking helps clear the mind and energize the body.

The workshop highlighted the connection between mental health and community participation—values that are at the heart of the Bosque Comunitario de Fe.

The team also handed out treats for children and shared details about the project’s mission, the environmental benefits of urban tree planting, and how residents can get involved to make their neighborhoods more sustainable.

These activities not only promote urban reforestation but also strengthen the bond between people and nature—core values of the Bosque Comunitario de Fe.

A Collective Effort for a Greener Future

The Bosque Comunitario de Fe is an urban ecological corridor in Central Florida that promotes green space restoration, mental health, and environmental justice within communities such as Azalea Park.

This initiative is funded by the Christ the King Episcopal Church in Orlando, in partnership with the Hispanic Access Foundation, and is supported by local organizations including Renacer Foundation, Corpus Care, Observatorio Ambiental Hispano, Calao Corp, and Biophilia.
